Bollards Again

The council probably installed them cos motorists couldn't or wouldn't heed the warning signs. I agree it's problem but a rather expensive deterrent. Would it not have been cheaper and more cost effective to issue fixed penalties - after all they obviously had a camera watching it. How are the bollards activated - manually or from system on the bus. Better still what happens when the emergency (fire, ambulance, etc) services need access. Seems they took a sledge hammer to crack a nut - but they've obviously cracked the wrongs nuts (or should I say bollards) - me thinks. I think Homer Simpson has finally got a job on the local coucil. DOH!
