Its quite a common problem (I've seen this on FIAT's & Ford's also). Usually the culprit is a bad earth or some wires making contact (that shouldn't). I would recommend that you look at the wiring in the offending light unit and test the various circuits (if the source of the problem isn't immediately apparent). Check also for signs of water damage, as this could also give rise to the same symptoms.
