I remember it costing me that to keep my 1979 Audi 100 on the road for the 18 months that I had it. And that was at late 1980s prices... I hate to think of inflation.
My return on the investment was the 30 quid that the scrappy gave me. That was when the fuel injection system finally packed up, the car became practically undriveable and I finally decided it was time to cut my losses and run.
470 quid + VAT was the price the Audi dealer quoted me just for the part when it needed a replacement driveshaft. I got one from the scrappy in the end. Again, that's in late 1980s prices. I bet even Renault can't match that
