bar the actual replacement of this cam belt replaced when head gasket was replaced as it was classed as 'good practice ' and not essential/affected part.
How can they claim replacing the cambelt was classed as "good practice" - yet they want you to abide the manufacturers recommendations. It would seem they want you
to abide the the manufacturer's code of practice but they
fail to. For instance if they had to replace an engine would they expect you to use the old
and filter - I think not!!
You are correct in seeking written confirmation regarding your service history - like all insurers they will do anything to wriggle out of paying or asking you to contribute.
