IIRC the Top Gear syrvey covered three years up to '53 plate so the Espace 4 would have only covered only a small percentage of the cars surveyed.
Until his untimely demise Big Regie never let me down. Some of the interior trim seems a bit fragile (most of the seat runner end caps broke off, the lid on the coin holder behind the gear stick broke and the electric window panel on the drivers door had a habit of coming off) and it was subject to about 6 recalls (only 1 of which I received from Renault Business Finance, the rest I found out about at service time).
And who decided that light beige would be a good interior colour for a family car?
