Re: About to buy a 2005 Renault Megane Cabriolet

I checked the engine from cold and sounded perfect to me ( not that I'm an expert)
Cant see no water marks or damp spots inside to indicate a leaky roof.
As for the key card, it only has 1 and its brand new at a cost of 100 and 50 for programming.
It drives very smooth and a lot more comfortable than my currant 2000 (x) Megane convertible sports alize.
All electrics work fine, apart from the rubbish radio but I will upgrade that and the speakers in time as I enjoy my music.
Slightly less power but it is a bigger car so I'm happy with it.

Pick it up Tuesday

Years MOT
6 Months tax
3 months engine and gearbox warranty.
Cheaper Tax
Cheaper Insurance
Better MPG

All the odd bits I found will be repaired before collection.
Was only the heater motor to replace, slightly sticky brakes on the back from where it has stood and the plastic ring around the gear stick is lose.

No idea on the cam belt and water pump, they are going to phone everyone in the limited service history and see if there is a record of it being done, if not I will get it done asap

Lets hope I have made the right choice.

Always a gamble with a secondhand car.

Thanks so much for everyones help.

Enjoy your weekend
