Have you looked at autotrader's website? I did a national search, and there are diesels there (from garages) with half the mileage for the same money.

I don't (thankfully) have experience of problems specific to the Vel Satis, but would do the normal checks - make sure everything works, look along the sides of the car for impact damage, check the tyres for uneven wear - on that subject - check that the wheels are on the correct axle points - there is a diagram on the driver's door which indicates what colour valve stemmed wheel goes where. I would ensure that the appropriate cambelt changes have taken place, etc. It is a car after all, but it is the most complicated and rare car that Renault ever made - what that means is, many things can go wrong, its expensive to put right, and not many people know how to do that.

I would advise you to buy on condition, look after it, and keep it under warranty (:: Warranty Works we supply Car Warranties at trade prices ::) is one I currently use, and would happily recommend - good value comprehensive coverage.

Hope all this helps you out.

All the best,

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
