I test driven a Laguna Tech Road to see the capabilities of the Carminat System vs the Pioneer Avic X1R I had on my previous Ford. IMHO the Avic has better searching (multiple routes, address, postcode and map vicinity and the possibility to scroll and touch to set a destination point), and better rerouting, so I am not impressed with the Carminat. It took me about an hour to transfer the AVIC on my Laguna (plenty of How To's around) and the system can be found on
reasonably priced if you feel you want something like it. Plus it's touchscreen and it can play DVDs to entertain the family
The nav on Lagunas is not touch screen, you move throught the menus using buttons on the nav unit (pre 2005) or the new console joystick (2005).
One thing I liked about the Carminat though is the bluetooth phone integration on the 2005 model.
