tbh im really worried about this now & am avoiding any trips that involve the use of "fast" roads.
havnt Renault got ANY idea how worried people are about this.
The silver metal ones can be effected if they become deformed for any reason. The friction can prevent the hook from returning to the engaged position. If yours is running smoothly, I would consider it safe, but don't take my work for it. If Renault are offering to have it looked at free-of-charge, then drop by and let them look at it. Then you have someone to blame if tish happens.
