Hi there and welcome.

Unfortunately, your paintwork came with a 3-year warranty, so that has expired (perhaps if it had been mentioned earlier)...

You really have 2 choices; get an expert's opinion and present it as a manufacturing defect, or accept it and pay for it to be repaired.

Although, even if it is a manufacturing defect, you may not get 100% reimbursement, as you have failed in your obligation to raise the fault at the earliest point and therefore mitigate any further loss/damage. In other words, you have contributed to the state it now is in, due to your inaction.

Personally speaking, I'd take it on the chin and accept an expensive life-lesson, rather than protract the situation further.

P.S. it looks like a bird's dropping to me also.
