As you describe it sounds like a metallic paint and believe it or not even having the code is no guarantee of an exact match - if you don't believe me ask any professional car sprayer. When looking for a touch-up paint I always go to a reputable car paint supplier (try yellow pages or Yell.com for someone in your area) The have all the necessary codes and mixing recipes - additionally they wil have a colour swatch books with lift out pages which can beheld against your car bodywork for comparison (preferably in good lighting conditions) My local supplier can supply either a spray can or in quantities as little as a tenth of a litre. Go to the professionals that's what I recommend/ Happy painting.
P.S. Not all coloured paints are shiney and you may need to apply a laquer over the top.
