Isnt it that thing behind the rear view mirror thats the sensor??

So if i literally pour water over it/cover it up with my hand will it make the wipers/lights work??

Thanks for your help.
Hi Jamesboy

Yes, both sensors are behind the mirror. They work (I think 'cos I've seen a simple diagram) by em waves bounced off the screen to a sensor and if the wave is different to expected, the lights switch on or the wipers wipe, depending on whether its raining or dark (or both [or not]).

Try driving under a longish bridge or unlit tunnel - its great when the lights come on when entering then switch off again. Better still, if its raining, on entering the bridge the wipers will switch off when the lights go on, and the opposite happens at the other side.

Vel satisfied right about the wiper; if it is in auto position when you start up, you have to switch it off then on again for the auto setting to activate
