Re: megane coupe paint defect

I can well accept that these things grow and run out of control - unfortunately, cars don't self-heal.

Many's the time I see a crusty rust blister (50p-size) or bigger, and think to myself 'but for a little spot of paint...'.

The OP has a responsibility to raise matters at the earliest point of noticing, and the result may well have been different. But he didn't, and now the warranty has expired and he's upset.

Well, presuming we are all old enough to drive and to own a vehicle, we are all adults and therefore have the responsibility for our own actions or omissions.

This damage did not occur overnight (the OP confirms this), so although I can understand why he is baulking at a potential four-figure repair bill, I can't find too much sympathy, as it's 4 years since renault built the thing, and those 4 years have been in his care, and under his responsibility.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
