Re: megane coupe paint defect

Totally agree.

Whilst the car is new/fairly young; (circa 50% of the time) the manufacturer is to blame, due to a flawed design, lack of development or poor materials/processes at the point of manufacture.

The dealers can probably add circa 25% of faults, due to poor workmanship and bad practice/lack of honesty.

That leaves the owner (and the poor sod who inherits this mess), to bear the remainder of responsibility.

If a car isn't kept clean, is revved up hard when cold, the clutch is slipped, and it's banged-up and down kerbs (to name but a few) - in what way would that ever be down to the manufacturer to repair (discounted or FOC)?

But as time passes, it becomes a 50:50 split between dealer and owner.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
