Clio boot problem

I've got a 2001 Clio with central locking. Went to open the boot today and I won't open, the button won't push in as though it was locked. Tried pushing it down and pushing the button but nothing! I've got into the the back via the back seats and its not caught on anything. Does anyone know any tricks, has anyone had this problem before?
Thanks Andy

Re: Clio boot problem

Have you tried putting some pressure on the boot around the area of the lock when you operate the central locking. Either pushing it in or pulling slightly to just in case the lock is actually stuck.

You might also be able to feel the lock trying to work which may rule out an electrical problem

Re: Clio boot problem

The lock motors have a habit of burning out, from the boot side right at the bottom middle of the door
is a very small slot it's hard to see. By putting a small flat blade in the slot you can by moving it up and down open the lock you can then get the cover off the back of the door and get to the lock.

Who would design a vehicle that falls over when you stop?

If you find a fix for your problem please let us know it will help others.
