Question Towbar question

Can anyone tell me if the necessary holes for fitting a towbar to a Megane II are already there? I fitted one to an old Rover years ago and they were so it was just a case of fitting the bolts through and away you went. If someone knew that would determine whether or not I buy one. Me and drills just dont get along.:loser: Cheers in advance

Re: Towbar question

When I fitted one to my MKI Scenic, the holes were already there, covered over with tape. It was just a case of offering up the bar to find where they all were as a few years of road grime had made them hard to find.

I would imagine its the same gig on the Megane II but please dont quote me on it

Re: Towbar question

holes etc should be there, think rear bumper has to come off and be trimmed a smidge too sometimes

Re: Towbar question

On the Lag II it's a piece of cake - all the holes are there, you don't have to remove the bumper/rear valance or modify it. Just a bit of help lifting it up to "offer" it to the box chassis members ( human or a jack!)

Ease of installation can depend on the quality of the tow-bar ( I fitted a Brink tow-bar with a detachable tow-ball) and all the holes lined up great - I've heard of some cheapo tow-bars where you have to "ease" the holes a bit to make them fit.
