Scenic wiper arm bearing pin

Anyone know how to get the pin out so I can replace the bearing?

I've looked through the forum, but this bit isn't covered.

I dont know what model you have, on my 97 Megane, you take off the wiper arm, loosten the nut, take of the plastic cap, underneath is a circlip you have to take out then gently tap the pin out.

Re: Scenic wiper arm bearing pin

Thanks PP, but mine is a 2003 Scenic with the dodgy bearings in the wiper arm that is another common fault with Renault.
There is a pin that seems to be crimped at both ends that needs to come out to replace the bearing.
Renault prefer you to replace the whole arm for 110 instead of a 1 bearing it appears.

Re: Scenic wiper arm bearing pin

Hi any news on how you got the pin out ? Have same issue with Megane Scenic 2007.. The pin has a strange nut, like castle shaped top, and looks like you need a special tool or does it ?

Re: Scenic wiper arm bearing pin

Hi, I simply held mine secure and lightlt tapped out with the bearing still atached. Then the bearing will probably fall apart on you or else you would not be changing it. Then I took a dremmel and carefully cut off the inner race of the bearing.

Next you need to file the castle end to make ith esame o/d as he rest of the spline. Then fit the bearing in the hole and use a vic to squeeze the spline through the bearing.

be careful through all the opeartions as the wiper arm can snap.

Its easy enough, a little time consuming but you will save 100 which you can put towards the next fault on you Renault (I know I did).
