Indeed. Even Renault radios aren't able to cope with slight extremes of temperature.

Re: Passenger 'door strap' clicking

Thats why Renault were probably quick to fit air-con to most of their range!

Going slightly off thread topic but I phoned Renault Tech today to try and definitively establish the load rating of tyres for my car - they couldn't find the car on their data base by the reg number or the vin number - it was bought from a Renault dealer and has all documents!!
The operative decided it must have been an imported car (bit obvious seeing it should have been built in France) but where in the world has it come from?? Reg Doc states it is declared new by Renault.

If Renault know nothing about it, I'd keep them away from it so it will be less likely to develop some problem it didn't have before.

I have come across this problem a lot. It even happened to my own van. Best job is to get a drill wit a 90 degree chuck, a 4mm drill bit and drill the very back of the check strap. Fill with wd 40 and work till clicking stops. Then pump full of grease. If you can't get in to drill, or don't have 90degree chuck, remove unit from door. Seal unit with stanard sealer to prevent dirt entering unit
