Re: Replace front bumper on Megane 11 05 oasis
Hello Sue, and welcome.
As you will no doubt be aware, removing & refitting a bumper is quite an involved task, as there are a few main mounting points where its bolted directly onto the chassis & bodywork, and a multitude of easily broken plastic clips.
Probably the easiest way to proceed is by carefully purchasing an undamaged bumper of the same spec & colour as your car (i.e. if it has foglights, make sure this one does also).
Examining the rear of the bumper will show where the same mounting points are on your car, i.e. if the engine undertray needs removal, along with the headlights (I don't honestly know, off the top of my head).
If you can't obtain one the correct colour - have it sprayed before fitting - its cheaper (no masking off), and doesn't keep your car off the road.
Fitting will definitely be a 2-person job & I'd advise placing a duvet or likewise under the front of the car to rest the bumper on (or in case it falls off).
Hope that helps in some way.
This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
