I think Iíve been conned!!!! I purchased a 53 Laguna Intial which I was told had a heated windscreen, On the climate control it has a heated windscreen symbol. Well itís the same symbol as on my old ford. But itís defiantly not as efficient as the ford, heated windscreen, so do I have a heated windscreen? And if so is it working?

I've yet to see a heated windscreen where you couldn't see the element if you looked closely enough. That should be the giveaway.

I'm not sure how the heated front window is implemented on the Lag II, but I would expect it would have a separate switch on the climate panel, in addition to the 'windscreen demist' switch that's on the same button as the heated rear window. That was certainly the case on the Lag I.

It's hard to say 'never' when it comes to Renault, as they're silly when it comes to changing specs, but I don't think the electrically heated front window has ever been standard on any model. I've only ever seen it as a cost factory option on some of the higher models.

all cars with climate have this to demist the window via the heater

the symbol is universal in cars so you know what there function is

dea, your car will not have a heated screen like your ford, but it does have a heated windscreen like everyother car
climate control will firstly use the a/c and heaters,to warm the screen up gradually for what the manufactures consider the optimum setting to clear the screen

i dont think the seller of your car miss informed you i think you interpreted it the wrong way, comparing it to a ford, with the heater element in the window, the good news for you though is the heater elememts in the screen on fords a fortune to replace, unless you have the solar reflective screen in your lag,and there a fortune as well

hope this helps
