Scenic II Boot Soaking

Lifted the carpet in my boot today and found that the spare wheel well was inches deep in water. The well seems to be an enclosed moulded plastic unit and the sides of it seemed to be dry.

Any ideas why this could be? I know the original Scenics suffered from blocked drain pipes from the sunroofs but havent heard anything about the new shape Scenics?

Happens on the Laguna as well - Happened on both of mine (1997 and 2000). Just replaced the boot seal on mine yesterday so will see how this turns out.

had this on my lag 2,open boot, remove trim on tailgate, locate rear of wiper AND drain pipe(this is about half inch diameter and push it back on!!!!
it comes loose with opening and shutting boot.
the water should exit to the right if the tailgate but it isn1t its going straight into the wheel well
