Re: Megane cc as water tight as a sieve
Not owning a cc,Im not sure how the seal is made between the front windows and the roof.
My new megane III(non cc) the water seal is mainly reliant on inside seal pressure.
ie the window doesnt slot into the upper door edge on both sides but merely rises higher than the seal on the inside of the car.
If the cc is like that, and all seals have been replaced ,since the door/window and roof move.Could you get them to
1. adjust the window guide runners so that they angle slightly more in towards the car when they wind up and so provide a better seal?
If the seal is on the outside angle them out slightly, since the problem is on both sides of the car
If the windows go up into a "slot" in the roof, ie the window is sealed at both sides, get them to extend the window closing height to the max ?
Actually even if it seals only along the top edge and one side ,maybe they could do that anyway.
2..adjust the door closing mechanism so that it pulls the door in a bit closer to the body when closed ,maybe even hinge bolts position a little.
3.the roof locking catches or whatever they are can they be adjusted to provide a better seal?
This garage must have a car wash yeh? and if its leaking in the rain it should do a lot more if a pressure washer gets near it.
What I mean is they should be easily able to test if all these new seals are actually working and make some kind of adjustments if they arent.
Currently in coup's garage:
RM III coupe 1.5dci FVT,Audi TT Mk1 ,a bike and too much rubbish.
