Hi and welcome to the forums

we seem to be getting a rash of electrical / door issues now, as its really started to rain in the uk this year.

check under the scuttle panel for blocked drainage plugs on the ends. also the sunroof drainage pipes.
as its common for water ingress to play havok with the electrics.
(these should be yearly checks for all Renos) if any condensation on the inside then get the car dried out asap, or there will be even more problems to come! as the UCH (car computer) goes mental with all manor of odd electrical faults if it gets damp.

also check the cable connector on the passenger door, and if possible se if there is damp/water under the carpet.

yeah, and can we have your cc on file for the next fault, or better yet sign up for thier blood/wallet donor list...

was that £228 just to take the door card off? or the full repair costs,

(T25/T27 Torx screwdriver, maybe a new inner water proof shield if it gets torn and a replacement electronic lock mechanism.)

hit these guys up for a call and see if they have anything kicking about. there are other breakers that have the bit you need, and not at an eye wateringly silly price. i know of other places but not very many do mail order.

search online for manuals MR315, MR316 (total of 11 Pdf docs) they might help for DIY fixes.

whats the computer got to do with it, its just a dumb lock mechanism on dedicated cables to the UCH.

did you google for the doc's i mentioned above ?
