Using Boot Struts for the bonnet

hey guys and girls, i got a question for you has anybody used the boot struts under the bonnet? to hold up the bonnet like they do on the mercedes etc etc

3 points to consider;

  1. weight of the bonnet - struts need to be capable of lifting (and safely supporting this), whilst also allowing it to close.
  2. lifting height of the bonnet - bonnet will need to open to approx the same angle it currently does to allow access. So the struts need to be quite long.
  3. fixing points for both the bonnet & where the struts attach to the body (bearing in mind, the wings are plastic).
As Mikey says, anything is possible, but there is an awful lot to consider, calculate and engineer through to overcome a 'problem' which many wouldn't care about.

That's one thing I miss not having on my Megane - I had these on my Alfa Romeo 156

The 2009 onwards megane has em,just a change of design thing .

Currently in coup's garage:
RM III coupe 1.5dci FVT,Audi TT Mk1 ,a bike and too much rubbish.
