Re: What Grease?

I use a spray chain grease aerosol with the skinny pipe extension on door hinges locsks, etc. The grease comes out of the can quite thin but after a day or so settles into a firm thin coat plus it gets into the narrow gaps that need lubrication. Also good for battery terminals.

In my opinion there's little point in smearing a hinge of door lock with a heavy grease which will just sit on the surface. It may help deter the ingress of moisture but has little chance of penetrating load bearing or moving parts.
