Kangoo Trekka

Our 2002 Kangoo Trekka has a non-structural box-section underneath on the off-side level with the c-pillar. It appears to be there to protect the rear suspension etc from crud thrown-up by the front wheels.

It has almost completely rotted away, but is not an MoT failure.

Anyone had this issue? Worth a repair by fabricating a replacement panel?

Any experiences with this issue welcome.
