I've had more success using a childs wax crayon (bigger range of colours too) heating the panel with a hairdryer first. It works great until the next wash.

Re: Magic pens to cover a chips dents and scratches

I've never heard of a pen that can cover dents???

Unless its a black marker used on a pair of spectacles.

In all honesty (and it's not because I have a vested interest in this type of repair), but there is no substitute for a professional repair.

I shudder when I hear a customer say these words, "I've had a go at it myself, but could you come and see it?" as it usually means they have made a salvageable situation much, much worse.

If you wish to post a few pics, I will give you an honest, non-nonsense opinion, and if its something you could tackle yourself, I'll tell you how to.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.

Talking Re: Magic pens to cover a chips dents and scratches

Only time I would use a scratch pen would be for the door edges, should there be a few tiny chips. Just to cover what most people don't see. Best course for anything more than minor, IMHO: rub down, clean, mask, match spray and laquer. That as a bare minimum for it to last any length of time.

Need to do this after being swiped by a load of very fast moving, arrogant trees who targeted my front wing, the evil, underhanded gits!

That's what happens to plastic - paint comes off too easily.
