master, sills

Hi, Im new to this forum, and looking for some advice thanks. My 2001 master lwb 2.5d ex ambulance is in my local garage at the moment being prepared for an Mot, (costing a fortune), apart from other things it needs new outer sills as they are badly corroded and apparently they cannot source new parts, can anyone tell me where I could get these parts, and how easy or difficult a job this is, and how expensive it should be.

thanks in advance.

Re: master, sills

Hi there and welcome.

I've seen similar problems listed before, and my advice (as was given before), is to get templates made up, then get a metal fabrication shop to make some to those specs.

You can choose the thickness of the metal, and the garage can weld them into place - once painted, no-one should be able to tell they aren't O.E.

That's what they've been doing with vintage cars for years, whatever they cannot obtain, they make.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
