Re: boot lid on 2005 megane

Hi there.

Has the boot been closed with obstructions sticking out, or is it possible that a forced entry was attempted?

As an aside, has there been any issue with the folding roof?

Re: boot lid on 2005 megane

Hi Kev CC / Paul,

Don't think this is an alignment issue, it is more likely to be the second curse of the French, first is electrics, second is cheap plastic. if you look at the boot catch, whilst open of course, you should see a small opening, inside this slot there should be a small piece of white plastic? if you can see it, try flicking it to the left with a small screwdriver or key, it will flick across very easily, if this sorts it, it is the cam inside the latch itself, it has 2 small tangs that flip the locking mechanism (one is broken on mine, but super glue, a 0.5mm drill bit and a paperclip later, its fixed for 99% of the time) if one of these tangs break, it can leave the mech in the open position.
