Laguna 2 front bumper removal

Hi all, I need to remove front bumper on my laguna 11, i have a manual it say you have jack the car up and remove the under panels and remove the wheels, This seems a lot of work just to get to 2 bolts, so has anyone done this job without having to remove the wheels.

Thanks Adie

Re: Laguna 2 front bumper removal

The front bumper is attached to parts of the undertray and wheel arch liners - it may be possoble to undo the retaining clips by turning each wheel on full lock but youll still need the fornt of the cat jacked up - plus the time to remove both wheels and refitting is minimal.

Re: Laguna 2 front bumper removal

Some year on, can anybody tell me the easiest way top access the ABS computer simply to check the plug doesn't have corrosion on it and give it is clean if it does?

The UCH or injection computer (I don't remember which) reports 'no vehicle speed information reported by abs' however when I go to the ABS computer with the CliP device I can see each wheel speed read out! I figure it might be a bad plug on the ABS computer.

Re: Laguna 2 front bumper removal

n/s abs module doubles as speedo sensor, there is 1 end cable, and it goes direct to the abs loom on the inner wing. o/s abs sensor goes to o/s inner wing onto an extended (trans engine bay extension) that goes across to near the n/s connector.

you wont get a reading from a clip for speed if the cars stationary. must be plugged in and driving to get a reading.(need an assistant to play with computer while your driving down the road)
you CAN! do a (static) relluctor ring reset reading with the clip with each wheel off the ground.(instructions are in the clip on that section as you test it.) this is as good as a drive down the road but takes a bit longer as your working your way round the car, jacking up each wheel and doing a 360' rotation of each wheel. reluctor ring should be about 43 tooth ??? (just depends on model of car)

access to the ABS unit is via the front of the wheel arch, removal of the inner splash guard and front bumper quarter splash guard. once the covers are off you will have clear access to the module. it will be coated in mud etc. use lots of wd40 to loosen up the connector.

fault is more likely the N/S sensor cable connection on the inner wheel arch or the sensor has failed, do you have ABS error as well as failed speedo dial ?
