Might be blocked jets. Hard water areas make little balls of lime in the water for some reason. Check your washer outlet is not blocked. Don't just poke it with a pin. Take of the pipe and poke it then wash/blow it back out the inlet To make sure it is really clear, or it just glogs up again.

Thanks, I'll try those things one by one and see if any of them sort my problem out.

It is possible to take the jets off the wipers? I couldn't see how to do this. I seem to have large jet on the passenger side, and small one on the driver's side with an even smaller one on the rear. Also, on a slightly different note, is it possible to buy just the plastic bit that fits between the wiper arm and the wiper itself? I've been given some from my local parts shop but it seems the Espace one is 'unique'

rear washer

Before deciding on drastic remedies - take the hose of the washer jet and the other end of the washer bottle motor and blow through - if it's clear this would eliminate the likelihood of a blocked hose. Have you ever used washing up liquid as an additive - if so please reply for further info.,
