Meg III coupe hatch seal

This has been on the car since new, like the pics.(taken about a year ago)
It later got larger and now the other side has peeled back a bit too.
The inner edge of the door rubber doesnt cover the pastic boot liner part.

I had it checked at first service but got the "Its the fittingtolerance, cant get it any better (the cuffs ride up with wear sir? ) " response.
I know how they could fix it, sharp metal edges of panels meet under the the seal strip itself. One of the joins sticks out at that corner n probly the other side too.
An angle grinder would do it..but might melt the sealer between the joins and would they repaint it properly.
Course then the seal strip itself might be out of line..() and let in water.
Its annoying anyway every time you open the hatch.

Q. Should I stand up for guarantee rights or just live wi it?

I had the same problem on my last car but it took longer to develop.

I'd check another model just to see if the same problem exists - if so, then there is probably very little they will do, as they won't 'modify' a car under warranty.

If the other model doesn't have that same issue, then you could argue that your car has a defect present since manufacture.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
