Hi all,my name is Tim I live in North Wales.
I have owned 3 Lagunas, first one was a green 1998 2litre RN estate automatic,it broke my heart when the auto went, and I had to scrap the car.The second was a 2006 1.9dci hatchback which my daughter now owns.My latest is a 2008 2.0dci 150bhp estate which I bought with 99000 miles on the clock, can't decide whether I was shrewd or gullible! time will tell but it's got a good spec and a pretty good service history.
The one current problem I have with it is the rear screenwash not getting through, unable to tell if it's a blockage or the pipe trapped somewhere,I have checked that the pump works ok,it does,am now thinking of pushing a long flexible cable(tandem brake cable) through to try to shift the blockage if that's what it is.Does anyone know where the run of the tube is?
Any thoughts would be welcome,thanks.
Incidently my wifes first car was a pink Renault 4 which she bought with her dad new in 1972 for 833 in which they covered over 100000miles it had 2 breakdowns, one was the glass expansion bottle broke and the second was the timing chain broke.

Hi Tim!

My first car was a white 1998 1.9dti laguna. Hardly the sportiest of first cars, but was comfortable and drove like a dream (plus it had enough grunt to keep an adolescent teenager's obsession with going everywhere flat-out satisfied!) I absolutly adored that car and was gutted when I was forced to sell it.

I think the car was pretty upset too, as the gearbox spontaneously turned into a box of shrapnel when driving home from a prospective buyer's test drive. Sod's law and all, the guy called me that evening to buy it!!!! An expensive repair later and I ended up selling for almost half the price due to lack of interest. I understand your use of the term heart-broken!

Sorry I can't help with the window washer problem, but welcome to the forum!

Don't risk rodding the pipes with a wire as you run the risk of damaging a non-teturn valve usually hidden somehwere in the bowels of the car.

It's most likely the inside of the washer pump has become blocked with gunge - quite a common problem.

You could try a few hot water flushes - failing that you need to remove the pump for cleaning or replacement.

Hi Madnoel, have you any idea about where the rearwash pipe runs. The pump works ok but nothing at all comes through,I've tried hot water flushing from both ends, there seems to be a complete blockage.I think I am going to have to replace the complete length of pipe.
