Clio bonnet

I live in France and none of my French friends has heard about a Clio bonnet problem on older cars. One of these guys is a buyer of cars for a major international company. He has not heard a word within the trade here in France or in Italy or Hungary where he is active in the trade, buying, leasing and renting.
What is it all about, then?

Perhaps you should also read Capot sooulevé sur autoroute - Renault Clio Problèmes techniques - FORUM Renault Clio - FORUM Les clubs Forum Auto and possibly note what the recovery-vehicle driver said.

Denials of the existence of this problem normally only come from Renault origins, so I am at least happy that an unconcerned Ford-owner takes the trouble to let us know that he has not observed this problem in France, Italy or Hungary.

In UK, 300+ ClioII Renaults have suffered such an incident and of course that means that the 'stupid' brits are not only stupid enough to buy this vehicle, but also stupid enough to leave their car bonnet insecure.

And that might only be the tip of the iceberg; who knows how many have just changed their windsceen and repaired their bonnet so that their insurance isn't effected.
