Question Boot lock loose

Hi guys,

I have a slight issue where my boot lock is starting to come loose.

I was wondering if anyone here can guide me on how to 'tighten' it.

I took it to a place to ask to quote me on the repair and they asking a fortune to 'tighten' it.

I'm so sure this is something I can do with the right advice or guidance... I mean, I replaced my own 'brake' light bulbs! haha.

Can I ask the experts for assistance...

Re: Boot lock loose

Iam sure the cost will be down to an hrs labour, which could be anything from 45-75hr

Iam no expert and ive been away from Renault for some time but i would say it will be as simple as a loose bolt or nut?, due to the lid being used allot?, to gain access to them the inner boot lining trim of the lid itself will have to be removed giving you access to the bolts or nuts in question,

You may find that the bolts or nuts will be torque bolts so you will need a set of these, image below, along will few other simple tools like a star and flat screw driver,

Hope this helps Don

Just and update.

So I took my car to DTM Renault Somerset West today to have my "third brake light" unit replaced - they 'offered' to fix my book lock unit (tighten it) as part of the "third brake light" unit labour.

Very cool of them!
