To be honest, water based paint is not the issue. Porsche have been using it for years. It's quite soft, so it chips a lot (see the front of ANY Porsche 911 - soft, water-based paint + bullet shaped car + high performance = chips) but they are finished well and have excellent paint work. To be honest, I think OG is correct - an independent specialist might be able to give you an honest, professional opinion. There is also a guy called Clean_Image on the forum who is pretty much an expert on these matters - it might be worth sending him a Private Message. He's a busy guy but I know he has the experience to give you some really good advice!
