2005 Espace IV 2.0 T Initiale Washer Fluid Leaking

About this time last year the screenwash started leaking from just below the drivers side headlight. Problem was traced to a faulty tube and replaced under warranty.

Low and behold 14 months later (today) it's started agian (now out of warranty). Anyone any ideas what might be causing this? Corrosion after the winter, faulty parts etc.

Garage said thay had never seen it before (apparently there is a tube between the main reservoir and the headlights) and that the tube was riddled with holes.

Back to the garage later this week but just want to know if this is a common problem?

Currently in richieruk's garage:

Wow! At last! Someone who has the same "we've never heard of it before" problem that I've had with both of my Laguna II's so far. Well similar enough.

Both have dripped screenwash from NSF bumper when the bottle has been reasonably full and the car has been parked with the offside wheels up on a kerb (as I often do at work.) The current one even does it on the level if the bottle is filled to the brim.

My currently favoured dealer (well they look after me, and they've never given me the car back in a dangerous condition, which is more than I can say for the others) swears blind that they've never heard of it before and that they can't reproduce the fault. I take pictures of the puddle on my mobile and show the reception staff every time I visit now. It seems to be a bit of a running joke.

Good luck in getting it sorted. And if you can't, then take comfort in the fact that your car is every bit as unique as both of mine have been

Hi richieruk and Horatio, I had the same problem ... nearside headlamp washer..... replaced 3 times ... until they noticed its not the tube (shock ), its where the tube meets the washer mechanism the plastic connector is stressed .... poor fitting at the factory and subsequent "tube" replacements ... they replaced the washer mechanism/assembly and lo and behold ... its been fixed for 18mths now!

Oh ... if richieruk's Espace is a 2005 why does he think its out of warranty? ... 36month warranty (pan european) ... take it back to the dealer and get them to fix it .... again!

Hope it helps

Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?
