Thumbs down help???

Hi all were new to this and on our phone so please bare with us lol

Basically our clio is a mark 2 phase 1-99 model. I've heard you can't put mark 2 phase 2 parts on them???? Is this true?? Of so what parts can I use body wise??

Also got a strange problem. Our cars gear stick moves when driving. It moves back and forth when going and losening off the pedal.

Also another problem it has really low revs

and the ait bag and sirvice lights on...

An last problem is a humming noise coming from the car when driving....

Any ideas????? Thanks in advance

Re: help???

I can't comment on the parts question but the gear lever will almost certainly be the lower engine mount (dog bone mount). On most renaults they are positioned towards the rear of the gearbox underneath the car.

very easy to change just undo the two bolts pull it out put the new one back in and put the bolts back in. As long as the cars not lowered you may not even need to jack it up.

Impossible to say what the humming sound is with so little info but given you appear to previously had drive shaft issues I would guess the wheel bearing on the same side has now failed or is on it's way out. Very easy to check. Jack each corner up in turn and hold the wheel at the sides and rock it back and forth then hold it top and bottom and try again. You should feel some give from the tyre but not much. Movement top to bottom and side to side would be failed bearings and movement limited to the side to side would point to worn axial balljoints (on the ends of the steering rack) or worn track rod ends.
