I can understand why you'd prefer OEM.
The one advantage plastic offers is that it is flexible, so if any type of rework is required, it thankfully doesn't involve a hammer.
Plus, if it doesn't fit 'exactly' you can always raise a dispute.
I did that with a roof spoiler I bought for the merc, I told the seller it was half a centimetre too narrow, but he advised me to fit it in any case, and it would line-up.
Well, I did, and my calculations had been correct - 2.5mm shy on each side.
I raised a dispute, and got half my money back.
I can live with it - as it would only be noticeable to someone going over it with an ultra-fine comb.
This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
