pesky door mirror

i, like many before me im sure, have falled victim to the dreaded wing mirror bashers !!
i returned to my 51 plate megane 1.6 after work to find the passenger side door mirror hanging by its electrical wiring !! i thought it would just be a matter of snapping it back in, but there seems some sort of strong spring thingy that i cant push there a special tool required or , hopefully, an easy way to get it back in ??

Hi there!

Sadly this happened to me too!

It looked like it could easily pop back on, but nope I couldn't no matter how much I tried it wouldn't go back on!

So off I went to my Renault dealer and asked them could they put it back on for me and they said "No, you have to replace the whole mirror unfortunately! as the mirror is a whole unit and you can't just fix the little parts!!

So how much is it going to cost then? and they replied "120 inc vat and labour which makes it 200, oh hang on a sec is it electric? oh ok...right that makes it 250!

Oh well it needs to be fixed it's started to fizz with wet weather we've been having, so it's going in next week!

Pesky door mirrors

Try Parts Gateway (Renault MEGANE Parts - Buy Renault MEGANE Parts from The Renault MEGANE Parts Gateway)
I used them for a radio remote control and the supplier in Kent was both helpful & polite, and the price was good as well
