Clio mk2 1.5dci (Door problem)

Bit of advice please with the following problem, I noticed in the last week that the drivers door handle was getting a bit stiff when opening the door, then it failed totally.

Now I can hear the solenoid operating ok to release the door, but the handle is now loose ie no resitance felt when you go to open it, door opens fine from the inside.

Is it an easy job to fix, with basic tool etc?

Cheers in advance

Sounds like soemthing inside the door has broken or become detached - only by removing the door panel for a looksee are you likely to find out.
