Re: MK III Megane Front Doors Clicking

Hi guys, I've had this problem on various Renaults - the check strap components dry and start sticking causing the click. Unlike other manufacturers, I found Renault (on the ones I've had) have small roller wheels that run along the check strap, the rollers being located inside the door route of the check strap.
To cure the problem I sprayed wd40 onto the check strap and with the door full open, onto the rollers which may be visible, thereafter I repeatedly moved the door back and forth across the click point giving a squirt of wd40 every 10-20 clicks until the rollers eventually freed up.
Once they were running properly again I lubricated the rollers with a lubricating oil (wd40 tends to evaporate off) which has done the trick.
As a matter of course, once a month I give the strap/roller components a few drops of oil to keep the mechanisms free.....and quiet!
Hope this helps.
