Laguna II headlamp washer jet fix
thought I would post this as a little helper to all us Laguna II drivers with the Xenon headlamps. Don't know about yourselves but my headlamp washer jets have given up the ghost. so I looked into possibly fixing them. as we know a complete jet and pipe assembly which does both headlamps costs in excess of £180 so what could we do? I got hold of a secondhand one which works and fitted it fine. so I looked at the old one I took off, it worked if you pulled it up and pushed it back down as the washers operated, fine if two of you but not if on own. the connector at the bottom of the jet where the pipe fits, will come off with a bit of persuasion. you have to be careful not to snap any of the housing or pipe connector. I found a couple of screwdrivers and some gentle persuasion with a hammer helped it off. take off the jet assembly itself at the circlip. make sure the jet assembly is against a flat surface when you do this as the spring will extend forcing itself apart. you now can take out the inset part that the jets fit too. you will find the rubber cup washer there which will have probably deteriorated either being bigger than it should or falling apart. I then got a replacement tap washer of 3/4 inch outer diameter costing 15p from my local hardware store, and reassembled. on assembly I put some white grease into the housing so acting as a lubricant for the washer. pushed everything back together. I then tested it by attaching to a garden hose and turning on the tap. hey presto the jet worked fine. I have now got 2 working washer jets. I though I ould try repairing the other spare jet, but as posted above, bot being careful enough and managed to break the lower housing. at least I now have jets working for the princely sum if 15p and a bit of elbow grease.
