Re: Megane III coupe key scratch

If you are tempted to cover this yourself, use some cellulose thinners to dilute the paint beforehand.

You want the consistency of water, and either an open-ended paperclip or the finest artist's brush to apply it.

It may take more than one coat, and repeat the process with clear lacquer (after thinning that too).

Allow 6-7 days to fully dry, then give it a good polish-up.

You'll still know where to look (owner's curse), but hopefully it won't be so noticeable to others, and corrosion is eliminated.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.

Re: Megane III coupe key scratch

I had something like this before, altho much less serious, just surface scratching from people leaving things on the car in car parks.

I need something like a compressor powered air raid siren, rocket launcher or mini gun that tilts out from the interior or

The scratchers are back..oh look a handy megane to leave my shopping/handbag or anything else I might be carrying on!

Also if the scratches were really bad on my car id just call out those professionals who come out to you and sand it down and match the paintwork etc can't remember the name of them I see the advert all the time though.
Yep I was the same with my old coupe,a 2000 reg but I still wouldn't have wanted anyone to damage it-did happen a few times though(including a boulder through my windscreen!)

I also then didn't park close to people unless I had to and I certainly wouldn't rattle my door off other peoples cars!
