Scenic II - Trim between door - Noisy

Can anybody help before I get rid of my Scenic.

I've a 2006 model Scenic which is very noisy/squeeky and its driving me mad, so much I'm thinking of changing to a Vauxhall.

I think its the exterior trim between the front and rear door, a black trim secured with a torx type screw.

The noise is bad when both doors are closed and they rub against the pillar/trim when the car flexes under driving.

With both doors open you can move the trim and squeeze it, it seems to be plastic but may be light metal.

I've tried to remove the screw but couldn't get it undone, I was hoping to remove the trim and possibly pack it with foam so it stopped squeeking.

Anybody any ideas or hints on how to stop the noise, fix the problem or any information.

surely this car is under warranty. Get the dealer to sort it out...if you start doing anything it might invalidate the warranty

Unfortunately a common problem.

In some markets there was a recall for this issue and they fitted a clear tape between the plastic and paintwork.

Try some trim cleaner on your door rubbers. I coated my 05 Scenic II with some wax and trim cleaner round the plastic edges of the panel which seemed to do the trick.

Luckily my 07 Scenic II is OK.

If car is less than a year old report it to your service Dept as Asterix has suggested.
