Unhappy 1998 Laguna Estate hatch will not open

All I searched and found one other example of this but no solution. I took the cover off the inside of the hatch and found the metal piece with what looks like a counter weight laying in the bottom. I don't know how it worked, it looks like something is missing. Does anyone have an exploded drawing or picture of this mechanism put together correctly? I went to the local breakers looking for an example, but couldnt find anything. This is the non opening window type hatch. And last but not least the electric servo works.
