Laguna II window won't go up, what's this loose wire?

Hi all,

Put window down this morning and when went to out it up I just heard a noise and nothing happened.

Took door card off and found this wire lose and that some of it had wrapped itself around the back of the motor, a bit of faffing on and I've freed it up... But where's it from and how in earth does it make the window work?

I'm not sure if it's from the top right 'runner/slide' Click image for larger version

I've managed to force the window up by hand and it's currently jammed so at least it won't drop and is safe for the night. Click image for larger version

That looks like the Bowden cable that operates the window regulator, a common problem and an easy fix but a new regulator is required

Had same problem when I bought the car, you can get a kit around 10 on Ebay to rebuild your existing parts, or a new pre assembled unit for 23.

Having watched the video on line how to rebuild your own unit, I bought the pre-assembled one. Took me about 10 minutes to remove the old unit, change over motor and refit.
