Gouged Scenic - ouch...

Rushing to drop my partner at the station this morning, I successfully gouged the rear door on my Scenic (2002 Alize), and also left a sevre dent in the rear wing. Anybody able to give me an idea of the kind of costs I might look at incurring to fix it? I appreciate that you can't see the damage, but in all my years of owning a car, I have never had to have any body work repaired before.

Also anyone know a good company in Brighton who do that kind of work?....

Nightmare, I feel for you mate.

When the missus did a similar thing with the Espace I used one of these smart repair companies, also used the on the 911 when some drove in to in whilst parked up an drove off!

They're in Manchester so no good to you but there must be similar organisations down there. Good alternative to a body shop because aswell as being cheaper they do the repair same day.

I also noticed when I was in my local Ren dealer that they have a menu system for some body repairs which looked to be quite reasonble, perhaps worth checking with them.

Good luck with it.

I used a local Chips away guy, he managed to match the paintwork on my rear NS scratches, and also paint the plastic bumper for the other side which is waiting for me to fit. He had to use a matting agent on the bumper as they are not so shiny.

Sadly scrapes are a thing you have to live with, my office car park in London is owned by the landlord andhe lets all sorts of things in, on my Volvo had to have the rear NS door re-skinned when an anonymous driver backed in to it.

Personally I think the delivering dealer should put the first door ding in your new car, then you wont have to worry about it getting its first scratch !
