I've not used any paint repair company's, but depending on how deep the scratch is (and how patient you are) you could porobably get a good finish yourself.

I've had a scratch repaired at a bodyshop though using, believe it or not, wet n dry sandpaper (2000 grade). This will only work if the scratch is only lacquer deep though. Anything deeper, you will need to fill it in with touch-up paint (use a cocktail stick rather than the brush it comes with). Fill it over a period of time otherwise it wil run. Once it is stlightly proud of the surrounding paintwork, wet n dry it with soapy water plenty of water) and polish out.

Hopefully, more experienced people of the forum will be along shortly to advise.
