Towbar removal 1997 2000RT Laguna

Hi. Got a dilemma with removal of towbar on 2000 RT Laguna 1997. Got some of the bolts out from the crossmember, stuck on the 2 upper bolts nearside and haven't got a clue for the side pieces.
Anybody able to give me a blow by blow account of what a bemused old fellow should do to remove it?
Thanks in anticipation. Chris.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

My brother was scrapping a Lag 1 a while ago and I wanted the towbar off of it for the Lag 1 I had at the time.I thought it was just a matter of undoing a few bolts and removing it,but it looked like the fuel tank had to be removed to get the bar out,so I left it.

My wife hasn't forgiven me since as she wanted a caravan at the time......

Take off the rear wheels and remove the liners. There is a bolt either side of the car that you must take out to release the supporting struts behind the exhaust and the petrol tank.
To detach the rest, I had to remove the bumper and angle grind the bolts off from the outside. They were pretty well seized and were just spinning when tried from the inside.
Reversed the procedure to re attach it to my othe lag1.

Hope this helps
